Old Mill wrestling went through yet another great season by the hard work of the coaches and wrestlers on the team to place high in the 2018-2019 season counties and states.

Old Mill, throughout the regular season had a record of 21-10. The captains of the team were Ryheam Tull, Damion Mansapit, Levi Garren, and Nehemiah Carter. These four led the team on throughout the regular season because they were “the hardest workers in the room” – Coach Grim. They then moved on to counties with their leadership.

In counties Old Mill did an outstanding job. Old Mill tied for 1st place overall to win the County Championship. Tull and Garren both placed 1st. Mansapit, and Carter took 2nd place. All the great placements and scores led up to the big games. In States Trinity Killip, Nathan Fleming, Mansapit, Caron Tull, and Garren were the five wrestlers that placed in the top 10. Out of the five, Caron Tull placed the highest at 5th place.

All four captains led the team this season with their impeccable skills on the mat and with their leadership skills off it. All four of the captains are seniors with a big hole left behind once they leave. Not everyone will be leaving though, Fleming and Caron Tull are two State placers that still have time to grow and shape the team in the future.

“We won our 27th or 29th County Championship. Not sure if this is a record but it’s pretty impressive,” – Coach Grim, Head Wrestling Coach.
